A few honest notes
- Volunteer roles depend on skills, licensing, insurance, background screening, and current needs.
- In Texas, heating, air conditioning, and plumbing work may call for licensed professionals, permits, inspections, insurance, or supervision. Volunteer roles are assigned only after review and approval.
- Applying to volunteer does not mean acceptance.
- No volunteer may begin work until HomeWorks approves and assigns the role.
- The value of donated time or services is not tax deductible. Some unreimbursed out-of-pocket expenses may qualify; please ask your tax adviser.
